Partnership working is crucial to safeguarding, the IWF tells NetSupport Radio

Safeguarding and protecting young people on the internet has never been more important.

The Internet Watch Foundation has been operating for 20 years with the mission to eliminate child sexual abuse imagery from the internet – not just in the UK, but right across the globe. Its annual publication of statistics shows why it is critical to get as many partners and organisations on board as possible to help them crack down on this growing problem.

During 2015, out of 68,092 reported images of child abuse, 69% were found to contain children assessed as being 10 years old and younger – and 3% were aged two years old and younger, Nicky Peachment of the Internet Watch Foundation told NetSupport Radio at Bett 2017.

The IWF currently has 130 industry members who complement and extend the organisation’s work. NetSupport is one of the newest, but already assists in the IWF’s mission by incorporating its data into NetSupport DNA to ensure schools can protect and safeguard their students as they use school technology.

Find out more from Nicky and learn about the IWF’s work here in her radio interview with Russell Prue on NetSupport Radio:
