Safer Internet Day took place earlier this week – promoting safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children and young people.
NetSupport joined hundreds of others in supporting the #SID2016 social media campaign, which trended throughout the day and reached over 4 million people in a mass tweet on the morning of Safer Internet Day.
In addition to a new report being released from the UK Safer Internet Centre, schools were also encouraged to use its education pack and TV clips to highlight the issues being tackled.
With children aged between 8 and 15 now spending more than twice as much time online at school and at home than they did a decade ago, there is now more of a need to provide protective measures for internet use than ever before.
NetSupport is playing its part by introducing a new safeguarding feature to its education IT asset management suite, NetSupport DNA. Providing schools and colleges a significant helping hand with their duty to protect students’ online safety, the new features include keyword and phrase monitoring and ‘Report a Concern’.
