Today is Earth Day! The event originated in the USA in 1970 after a massive oil spill off the Californian coast killed hundreds of thousands of sea birds and marine animals; impacting the ecosystem of the area for many years afterwards.

There are activities taking place across the globe to celebrate the day and to encourage people to live and work in an environmentally friendly way, such as recycling and helping people to use less energy.

Environmental campaigns are also going on in universities and schools to educate upcoming generations about preserving the environment for the future.

For schools and organisations that have NetSupport DNA installed, you too can do your bit for Earth Day by ensuring its Energy Monitoring and Power Management features are being used to calculate your energy usage and then set a policy to automatically power off devices at specified times of the day. Not only is it good for the environment, it will save you money too.
