According to research from IPA, adults in the UK spending almost eight hours on devices each day consuming media (a 9 per cent rise on 2016). Our use of technology is being fuelled by it becoming increasingly used in schools and embedded in society – not to mention its highly addictive social media side.
An aspect of tech use that is becoming more talked about is the physical impact it’s having on our bodies. The human body was never designed to stay still for extended periods of time and that’s exactly what using our devices causes us to do. Physical inactivity slows our metabolism and can lead to problems such as obesity, type 2 diabetes and heart conditions.
