October is National Bullying Prevention Month, a campaign founded by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Centre in 2006. The ambition of the event is to raise awareness of the issue of bullying and increase the knowledge of preventative methods. Actions taking place include the sharing of information on social media, inspiring each other to unite for kindness and acceptance, as well as promoting the overall idea of safe and supportive schools.

Helping to combat issues surrounding bullying in schools is NetSupport DNA’s dedicated online safety module. Features such as a keyword monitoring provide insight into what students are typing and searching online, while the alerting system triggers a notification to staff when a high-risk term occurs. Additionally, student ‘report a concern’ allows students to report any issues they are experiencing to a trusted member of staff.
