Happy National Education and Sharing Day!

In 1978, President Jimmy Carter founded the National Education and Sharing Day as an annual day of observance in honor of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, commonly known as ‘The Rebbe’, a spiritual leader who was an advocate for education beyond academics.

The Rebbe was considered to be one of the most influential Jewish leaders in the 20th Century for his views on education and belief that every child was owed an education. He is also known for organizing the Chabad Lubavitch, an international movement that founded a network of Jewish educational centers and institutes (called Chabad Houses). This day celebrates his commitment to improving Judaism and mankind through his significant contribution to education and the betterment of society as a whole.
