Explore insights from women in tech in our new ‘Her Tech Life’ podcast!

There aren’t enough women working in the tech industry and all too often the ones that are, aren’t being seen and appreciated for the work they do. Role models are a huge part of attracting more women into the industry and so in this new series, community engagement manager, Kat Cauchi, interviews women at the software company, NetSupport. She asks them about their roles, what it’s like to work at a technology company (the challenges and the benefits), and their advice for anyone wanting a career like theirs.

Episode 1 – Maggie Layfield, VP of Sales for NetSupport Inc.

In this episode Kat interviews Maggie Layfield.

Maggie is the US/LATAM (Latin America) VP of Sales. She applies her experience as an educator to promote lifelong learning, which is why she has been a speaker at ISTE, TICE, ASTE, IAITAM ACE, and several other education conferences. Maggie is an enthusiastic baker, puzzler, and mother of three rambunctious kiddos.

Here are some of the questions we asked Maggie:

  1. Can you please tell us a bit about you inside and outside of NetSupport?
  2. How did you get into tech?
  3. What was the transition like from working in education to working in tech?
  4. What have you found have been the challenges (especially as a woman in a male dominated industry)?
  5. On the flip side, what have been some of the benefits and opportunities you have had working in tech?
  6. Does working in tech offer flexibility that supports your work-life balance?
  7. What have been some of your favorite achievements to date (professionally or personally)?
  8. What is your advice for women who are interested in working in the tech industry?
